Yancy,
I can't believe it has been almost a year since I started sCULPture Boot Camp! This has been my one and only completed New Years Resolution WOOHOO!!!!! That my friend, is an accomplishment we can BOTH be proud of!
While I was always well meaning, my other attempts to get in shape and adopt a healthier life style quickly lost their appeal a couple of weeks into the program.
I would just dread dragging my butt to the gym to work out, same old thing . . .quick spin on the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes, then toss around a few free weights, crank out a some painful squats and 20 quad burning lunges, then off to the house for well deserved meal. Well it didn't take long for the routine to bore me to tears and provide no noticeable results. I discovered more excuses to justify skipping the gym, than the average senior high school student has for not doing homework! Ever since that fateful day that Charla convinced me to join their supplemental Saturday work out, I figured it had to help combat the holiday goodies that were taking up residence in my midsection. I just couldn't help but notice that the Saturday crew kept talking about the killer work outs from the week before, so I vowed that after the first of the year I would join... I was working up to being able to do at least one sit up throw with some coordinated effort... HA!
Here we are only 2 weeks shy of a full year, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
Thank you for keeping it interesting for a full year, Thank you for your constant encouragement and motivation, Thank you for the improved muscle tone and strength, Thank you for your undying patience, Thank you for your genuine concern and commitment, and most of all Thank you for my improved health. Who would have thought that panicked call to the Dr's office would have concluded such great news. My deadly family history of serious heart issues was enough to keep me vowing to get into a healthier lifestyle for years, but it wasn't until I joined sCULPture Nutrition & Fitness that I realized some key heart benefits, my resting heart rate has gone from 88 beats per min to a phenomenal 56 beats, here I am thinking my heart was shutting down when it really was just so much stronger that it just beats more efficiently! Not only is my heart stronger, my whole body is stronger and a bit slimmer....every girls dream...who would not love that outcome!
Thanks again Yancy for designing such a successful program!
I am looking forward to my second year ( woohoo!!!) and incorporating more of the Nutrition part in my over all plan . . . that's where you come in Amy!

The Tri-Cluster Professional Development Conference was a real success and we appreciate you helping to meet the needs of the participants. We always want to provide the teachers with valuable information that they can share with their students to make their classes relevant to the current needs of teenagers.

Thanks for presenting to my runners about sports nutrition. It was age appropriate, and you even made it fun with the games and prizes! You did really appeal to the age group and I do feel they came out with a better understanding of nutrition and its importance. They talked about the food groups for days after. It was a valuable experience for all kids and grown-ups alike.

"Dear Amy,
I just wanted to say a big thank you for steering me in the right direction with my nutrition plan leading up to and during the Boston Marathon. Boston was my 10th marathon and it was far and away the best I've ever felt. Based on your advice, I learned the appropriate way to eat during training and taper and I finally achieved true pre-race carb loading. All these years I thought I was doing it right and I was completely off track. I normally finish a marathon feeling terrible and ready to drop (or, in two races, I have no memory of finishing and getting back to my hotel). I followed the "fueling plan" you created, and I felt so good during the race that my last 2 miles were my fastest. What an amazing time. I was able to soak in all the fun and chaos instead of wobbling along the finishers' chute. Thanks for all of your help and guidance."

"... I know I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for your positive guidance. You are truly a wonderful nutrition therapist... you have a gentle spirit about you. I think many can learn and heal from you! Not only do you help with facts and information, you make a person feel comfortable and I never once felt judged! It is easy it open up to you, it's just your nature I suppose!! Some people have that gift and you are one of them."

“I have to tell you that SO much has changed since I have seen you! That first appointment with you was the beginning of something great for me and I cannot wait to continue working with you! I have been dealing with A LOT of new feelings (while doing the food journal), and though it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done, I know it is well worth it.”

“Just wanted to let you know that I’m doing really well. My husband and I have been working out and I’m still eating well. I still go through periods where I’m not eating the healthiest options but I work hard at not getting down on myself. Just today I was going to have something because I just wanted it!!! And then I asked myself, am I just bored or do I really want it. It turned out that I was just bored and I put the food away. Thank you for teaching me that. You have really taught me to enjoy food and to let go all of those rules that I’ve imposed on myself. I feel so great. So many people at work are dieting and I just feel so good that I’m not! I’m just learning what is healthy and what is not so. And making choices myself rather than some book telling me that I have to eat this or that at whatever time of the day. I finally feel free and I know I’m going to reach my goal of a healthy life and body. I’m so excited!!!!”

"I just wanted to contact you and say that I'm doing a whole lot better. I'm still really struggling with my eating disorder but it is slowly going away. I'm not cold anymore and not as preoccupied with food. Well, I just wanted to tell you that I have gotten here with all your help and thank you for all that you have done. I couldn't have done it without you."

"Yancy,
I just want to thank you and Desmond for all the hard work and training you have put into Zac's development and preparation for High School Football. Zac started working out with you last Fall - sometime late September. Even though Zac was in pretty good shape for a middle school athlete, he still needed a competitive advantage with high school closing in. As most folks know, the 40 yard dash is a key evaluation component for "skill" position players in football. Zac started out with you running a 5.4. Not a horrible time for a 13 year old - but not something to brag about either. So after 9 months of your intense workouts and some excellent speed training with Desmond, my 14 year old son turned in a 4.8 for the Cedar Park HS coaching staff today. A 4.8 on tired and wobbly legs at the end of a grueling 2 hour workout! No way on earth he could have shaved over half a second in less than a year without you and Desmond. Zac's new goal is to break into the 4.5's before his soph. season and then break into the 4.4's before he finishes high school - so we are in your program for the long run."

"Yancy,
I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for Trent and I through the boot camp and athlete training programs. We have both seen big gains in strength, speed, and cardio. Mr. cardio was tested recently during my 20th wedding anniversary trip to Vegas. While walking down the strip after a show I was knocked down by a gentleman being chased by police. The policeman fell so I joined the chase. Was I surprised as I reeled him in about a block later. After asking him to get on the ground (3) times and him not doing so, I used my martial arts training to take him to the ground and restrain him until police arrived. There is no way I would have been able to do this 2-3 months ago. It has been one year since I had open heart surgery (aortic valve replacement), and I can honestly say I feel FANTASTIC. I am addicted to your program and look forward to it every week. Your professionalism, attitude, knowledge, passion, and dedication are to be commended. YOU inspire all of us, as we are fortunate to know you, your family, and sCULPturetexas."

“When I first contacted Yancy Culp he was one of three people that I reached out to in my quest for reaching a very important goal in my life. All three people returned my call; two of the three without hesitation told me that what I wanted to do could not be done in the amount of time that I had provided. Mr. Culp met with me in person; we discussed my goals and a sports injury that I had recently acquired. I told Mr. Culp that I needed a running coach to meet my goal of running 1.5 miles in under 15 minutes. I also explained that I had to work around my knee injury and that I could not do any running without my doctor’s release, which I did not have at the time. I then informed Mr. Culp that I had four months to accomplish this goal. Mr. Culp made a few calculations on his paperwork and then looked up and said it could be done. It was at this very moment that Mr. Culp began to stand out. From this point on the training began. We started off with medicine ball workouts and walking. We worked out in the dark of night, on the cold days, on weekdays and on weekends. It did not take long for me to see that my goal became his goal. Mr. Culp always paid special attention to my injury making sure that we did not aggravate the injury in any way. The very day I was released to run we started running. The progress we made on the running was absolutely unbelievable. Not only did I complete our first run, which I was sure I would not be able to complete, but I made the run in 18 minutes. With every run I did Mr. Culp ran with me with encouraging words every step of the way…the best words came when he said, “you’re a runner.” During an incidental conversation that we were having during warm-up one day, I mentioned that another part of my goal was to complete a set of obstacles and push-ups. He wondered why I hadn’t told him about this earlier but immediately started working on a plan after I gave a brief explanation of the obstacle course layout. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the next training session to see a series of mock obstacles. I was so moved to see the effort that he put in to make sure I would get the most out of my workout. I hired him as a running coach, but he went beyond that to help me with my other goals as well. He far exceeded my expectations. On one of the greatest days of my life, I accomplished my goals and completed the 1.5 mile in 14 minutes and finished the obstacle course well under the allotted time. Yancy never gave up; Yancy never let me give up. I sought a running coach…what I got was a running coach, a personal trainer, a life coach, but more than that I met someone who changed my life – a person who helped me achieve a life long dream. What he did for me, I could never repay him for."

"Leah,
I appreciated Leah’s direction and support in getting me back on track with eating better and eating more appropriate quantities. My blood pressure is down. I am losing weight slowly, but surely, which is the way to make sure that the weight stays off. I just feel better overall. The information and support that Leah provided has helped me make changes that will benefit me for the rest of my life."

I cannot thank you enough for the way you have embraced a camper like me. I was very apprehensive of joining your Boot Camp, but had great encouragers in my husband and daughter. From the first workout, I felt accepted and challenged – in the midst of athletes who were on another “playing field”. That environment is driven by your leadership and spirit. You are inclusive, and do an excellent job of customizing the workout based upon the individual. I’m a believer in boot-camp, and consider myself blessed to know you and Amy.
I’m looking forward to the next camp and continued improvement on my health, balance and endurance. Thank you from the bottom of my “healthier heart”.

Dear Yancy and Amy,
First, I want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to your program. As you know, I was very hesitant to do boot camp. Hesitant isn’t really the word, it was more like terrified. I have always been pretty athletic. I played all kinds of sports growing up and was on the drill team in high school. I was even a professional cheerleader for the Houston Oilers. But, I had a pretty significant foot injury three years ago playing volleyball and I thought my athletic days were over. Since I have started boot camp I feel better mentally and physically than I ever have in my life. My first boot camp was challenging, but very rewarding. I have never been so sore but so satisfied with my workouts. I’m in my second boot camp now and I’m feeling much stronger and can tell that my endurance and balance are much better. The thing I love most about boot camp is that it is FUN! I would highly recommend it (and do every chance I get) to everyone. Thanks again for being great leaders and patiently encouraging me to push myself harder.

I am a former college athlete and a lifetime city league athlete in multiple sports. I signed up for sCULPture's Boot Camp with Yancy during his afternoon sessions expecting to lose a little weight and gain a little speed, strength, and endurance. My expectations were substantially exceeded! I lost almost twenty pounds, put on lean muscle, and my sports performance has improved on every level. I am now more than a believer…I am an advocate for Sculpture Boot Camps. Thanks y’all. I can’t wait for the next one to start!

I was getting really bored with my workout and needed something new. I saw the ad in Austin Fit magazine and enrolled for the 5:30am class. I just finished my 3rd Boot Camp and can’t wait to begin my 4th. I have lost fat, gained muscle and am stronger than I have ever been. Everyday is something different so the challenges just keep coming!

As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I am certainly no stranger to exercise. But, for as long as I can remember I've always hated it. Until Boot Camp. I've tried personal trainers, gym memberships, pilates, yoga, exercise tapes and in every case I never saw the results I've seen with SCULPTURE boot camp. I'm now starting my fifth session with Yancy. He keeps sessions fun and exciting all the while targeting muscles I never knew I had. Each class bring something new and challenging, while incorporating key core exercises. He manages to be encouraging and supportive, without being overbearing like other instructors I've had. You can tell he genuinely wants you to succeed. It's the only exercise program I've ever looked forward to attending, even at 5:30am, and it's the only one I'll stick with. I've come home early from business trips just to ensure I won't miss a second! 6 weeks was all it took for me to see a noticeable difference and to become a permanent recruit. I can't recommend the sCULPture Boot Camp class enough.

At my age (61), it is very challenging especially with people half of my age but I love every minute of it. I have been attending sCULPture Boot Camps since last July and will continue. It keeps me consistently exercising four days a week. It keeps me fit, mentally and physically alert without a doubt. Yancy does a fantastic job of setting up so many different exercises that make an hour feel like minutes.

My name is Tara Schwirtz and I am 20 years old. I just finished my first 6 weeks of Yancy's boot camp. I have never been so happy with my exercise plan! It is fun, unique, and always different. I learn so much about what our bodies need for improvement. I have seen many changes in my body, and energy level throughout the day. The six week progression really showed me how much I can do and what I am capable of. Yancy is very encouraging and motivates me to keep on going! The word boot camp may sound intimidating but it is so much fun, and really pushes you to your full potential.

I testify everyday about how wonderful the camp is. This is an awesome workout that is never boring and gets results. I am hoping to get my friends and co-workers to join me at your camps. After less than one week off I am looking forward to the next session. It has really made a difference and I am back on the basketball court after four weeks - thanks to sCULPture Boot Camp! I am also keeping pace with guys on the court.

My name is Randy Evans and I am the Central Texas Scout for National Scouting Report. I was first introduced to Yancy Culp in the summer of 2008. One of the athletes on my roster attended a national Nike Sparq event and was not satisfied with his score. We both knew he could do better. I found Yancy on the Nike Website, and sent my client to him. After only two weeks working with Yancy, the young man improved his score from 86 to 116, which put him in the top 2% nationally!
I have since sent several athletes to Yancy and all have had dramatic results. An area baseball player improved his 60yd time from 7.5 to 6.8, a volleyball player improved her vertical from 22" to 25".
The results that Yancy achieves are amazing. As with anything, the student-athletes have to be willing to work and follow Yancy's instruction, but if they do, they will be thrilled with the results. I currently have 5 athletes working with Yancy all with excellent results. I am completely sold on Yancy's program and would highly recommend him to any athlete who wants to maximize their potential.

I first started working with Yancy to help regain my speed and strength that I had lost from having a broken foot. In two short months, I not only regained my speed and strength, but I also became faster and stronger than I have ever been. There’s nowhere I could receive better training or motivation to achieve my goals than with Yancy and his training program. He and Desmond have truly helped me take my game to another level, and I owe so much to them."

I first met Yancy Culp after I contacted him about getting a certified SPARQ rating for football. Originally I planned on meeting with Mr. Culp just one time, however after witnessing his enthusiasm and knowledge about training, I decided to train with him in preparation for the upcoming season. I began to train with Yancy and Desmond twice a week, and immediately saw results. Since working in their program I have shaved about two tenths off my 40 time, improved my flexibility, and made immense improvements in agility and explosiveness. I know that if I continue to work hard under Yancy and Desmond’s oversight and encouragement, I will continue to see astonishing results while reaching all my goals in football.

Our son Quentin Hope is now and has been for about eight months training with Yancy Culp & Desmond Bynum. Que's training has paid off in such a short time. As a sophomore his 800m run has went from 2:02 to a 1:58 which placed him as runner up in the District track meet in 2007 and qualified him for Regionals. Not only has it helped him in track but it has helped him do some great things in football as well. They have also helped him with his mental game. He is very focused and dedicated to his off season training. Yancy, Desmond, and the support of his parents have helped him maximize his off season.

Yancy Culp and Desmond Bynum's fitness training has helped me in all aspects of my Track & Football training. My speed, quickness, strength, agility, and explosiveness have all improved in 8 months. It helps me not only in the physical aspect but also with the mental part of my training. They are great trainers.

Working with Yancy and Desmond over the past 8 months has really improved my speed and strength. I used to play 1st base and hit 7th or 8th in the lineup but now that "I got some wheels" I'm playing center field and leading off. I feel like I'm in better shape than ever and my confidence has improved as well.
