|
|
 |
Yancy Culp, an ACE (American Council
on Exercise) Certified Personal
Trainer, is dedicated to empowering
clients to fuel their bodies and
minds with fitness, in and around
the Austin area. He works with
clients of all fitness levels in
private, small group, and large
group sessions. No matter what your
goals or level of fitness, Yancy
leaves no one unchallenged and no
one left behind. He coaches speed,
power, agility, reaction, quickness,
and strength camps geared for
athletes who are serious about
moving on to the collegiate or
professional level. His proven
techniques are currently used by
professional programs all over the
country. |
If you are looking to improve your level
of fitness, health, and lifestyle
through exercise, Yancy has programs
designed for you. He specializes in
utilizing a wide variety of exercise
methods and teaching clients how to
enjoy exercise and the wonderful rewards
that come from a consistent program.
Yancy’s passion for
fitness began in high school, where he
actively participated in football, track
& field, power lifting, and cross
country. Yancy was a four-year
letterman in Track & Field and state
medalist at the Texas State Track Meet,
three-year letterman and two-way starter
on the football field, competed in the
State Cross Country Meet, and was a
Texoma Powerlifting Champion his senior
year of high school.
Yancy competed at the
collegiate level in cross country and
track & field while at the University of
North Texas. He then enlisted in the US
Navy and his passion for physical
fitness continued as he trained fellow
service members during preparation for
physical readiness tests, was a member
of three consecutive flag football
championship teams, competed in power
lifting, and was an avid rock climber.
After leaving the Navy,
Yancy played Semi-Professional Football
for the San Diego North County
Cheetahs. While with the Cheetahs,
Yancy had the opportunity to train with
professional athletes from various
sports who come to San Diego and train
during their off-season.
Currently Yancy is a member of Waterloo
Track & Field Club and is competitive at
the national level during the indoor &
outdoor seasons. In 2006 Yancy finished
second in the nation in the 30-34 age
group in the 800m run at the Masters
Indoor Championships in Boston, MA. He
has great range and is competitive in
distances between 200m – 5k. Yancy and
Desmond Bynum (view Desmond’s bio below)
met while running together for the
Waterloo Club. They have teamed up to
create a dynamic Athlete Training
Program that allows serious athletes the
opportunity to maximize their off-season
and improve their performance.

Desmond Bynum
Athlete Training Program Coach |
|
|
 |
Desmond Bynum is a young sprinter
with tremendous talent and a bright
future in track and field. He
brings this talent to the sCULPture
team as a coach for the Athlete
Training Program. Desmond’s running
times have allowed him to compete
against some of the best athletes in
the world. After just barely missing
the 2004 Olympic Trials, he has
remained adamant about making it to
the next Olympic Games in 2008.
His focus has only increased and his
times continue to drop significantly
as each year passes. The most
amazing thing that Desmond possesses
is his dedication to the sport.
|
He has maintained an elite level of
performance while working 40 hours a
week as an IT Manager, and while also
being a graduate student. If that
was not hard enough he still performs at
an elite level without a coach or
training partners. This dedication
has led to a better understanding of the
sport and a thorough knowledge of his
capabilities. As a collegiate
athlete he broke many school records and
led his team to their first conference
championship in school history. In
high school, Desmond began his track
career as a high jumper and long jumper.
He then became a walk on freshman when
he entered college as a jumper. He
did not start sprinting until the end of
his freshman year in college. This
earned him scholarship rewards for his
last two years of college eligibility.
Some of Desmond’s career highlights are
listed below.
2006:
2006 Outdoor National Qualifier; 100m –
10.33; 200m – 21.0
